Further to the splendid images by the late Keith Pirt in T140, in T143 we feature some early 1960s views of the famous Type 5s in action on the East Coast Main Line. D9007 Pinza is seen at Ganwick having emerged from Potteršs Bar Tunnel and approaching Hadley North Tunnel with the Up 'Flying Scotsman' in a photo dated July 1961. D9007 was named Pinza without ceremony at Doncaster Works on June 22, 1961. From the same date it was allocated to Finsbury Park depot.
